Influenza (Flu) Notice
3 Aug 2026

🦠 Influenza (Flu) Notice

Kia ora e te whānau,

We are currently seeing an increase in cases of influenza (the flu) within our school community.

Common symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or blocked nose, headache, body aches, tiredness, and sometimes vomiting or diarrhoea.

Please keep your child at home if they are unwell or have flu-like symptoms. They should only return to school once they are feeling well and have been free from fever without the use of fever-reducing medication.

Please continue to encourage good hand hygiene and covering coughs and sneezes to help reduce the spread of illness.

For more information about influenza, symptoms, treatment, and when to seek medical advice, please see the attached Health NZ information.
