At the end of 2014, Kawakawa Primary School joined the Kaikohekohe Network, a cluster of schools working collaboratively to improve student achievement and learning outcomes.
The Kaikohekohe Network places a strong focus on students learning alongside their classmates, whānau and wider community. Digital technology plays an important role in this learning, with Chromebooks providing students with opportunities to create, share and showcase their learning with whānau, friends and the wider world.
Our approach to using Chromebooks is based on the Manaiakalani model, developed by a cluster of schools in the Glen Innes–Panmure area of Auckland. Being part of the Kaikohekohe Network allows schools to share knowledge, ideas and resources, strengthening learning opportunities for all students.
Students in Years 4–8 are encouraged to purchase a Chromebook through the Kaikohekohe Education Trust. Please contact the school office for information about purchasing and payment options.
Students in Years 1–3 have access to iPads to support their learning.
