He taonga tuku iho, e noho Māori nei, ki taku kura auraki e.

We are seeking a passionate and capable kaiako for our senior bilingual class, Ngā Rau Rangatira, to begin in Term 2, 2026. This Level 2 bilingual class (50–80% te reo Māori) is a place for ākonga who are fluent speakers, emerging speakers, and those keen to learn in a bilingual setting.

Experience with structured literacy and maths is an advantage, and you will be supported to continue growing these skills.

Kawakawa Primary School is a mainstream kura in Te Tai Tokerau, with many of our tamariki being Māori, closely connected to Ngāti Hine o Hine a Maru. We are committed to strengthening the identity, language and culture of our ākonga, and are known for our Reo Rua pathways and our commitment to upholding all that is good.  You will be held and supported here by dedicated staff, whānau and community, with our learners at the centre of every decision and everything we do.Kia ū ki te pai – Uphold all that is good.
